Improve yourself and your health by getting rid of all those toxins you are carrying around. Have you suffered any illness recently? Are you prone to consuming excessive alcohol or caffeine? Our body is designed to detoxify itself. That’s right! But what if you overload your body with toxins? It can’t detoxify itself. We need to go for self improving, go for a detox ourselves. One way is living a healthy lifestyle; the other is living an active lifestyle!

Our very lifestyles cause stress, both physical and emotional. The food we eat and our environment both lead to increased toxins in our bodies. Many of us drink coffee all day long and some of us are heavily into alcohol. All this adds up!

Improve yourself by living a healthy lifestyle. Your body will have fewer toxins to get rid of. Let’s start with eating healthier foods – foods that are fresh and not canned, e.g., fresh vegetables and fruits. Drinking water is a great way to start the detox. It hydrates your body and cleanses it at the same time. It helps flush out those toxins. This doesn’t mean you need to drown your innards with water! Drink as much you are comfortable with.

Have green tea if you can’t drink water every now and then. Green tea will boost your antioxidants. It will have a positive effect on your immune system. Green tea helps infections, heart problems and high cholesterol. We do eat a balanced diet, or at least try to! Supplement your diet with vitamins. You will need those extra nutrients.

Go for meals that have more fiber; try whole wheat bread and brown rice. Eat fruits and vegetables, but only those with low starch content.

Improve yourself by meditation everyday. A few minutes of meditation is enough to de-stress you, to bring peace and harmony to your mind, to relax you.

Living An Active Lifestyle

Improve yourself by bringing a change to your lifestyle. Add a bit more exercise to your daily routine. Exercise helps in detoxifying your body. Moderate exercise through jogging and swimming is great to keep you in shape as well as help improve your blood circulation. It burns off excess calories and keeps cholesterol and glucose level in check.

Exercise assists in cleansing you internally by increasing your breathing, as well as your body temperature. Most of your toxins are stored in your body fat. Exercise helps reduce body fat and hence your toxins. Go for Yoga to de-stress your mind. Detoxing through Yoga reduces blood pressure, improves breathing efficiencies, helps in improved digestion, and calms your mind. Exercise ensures that you sleep well, and sleeping is a great way to detox.
