Clinique Acne Solutions Review
Treatment products for acne have become a big commercial venture, with a new product practically on the shelf everyday. Do not be fooled by the tall claims made by the products as they all seem to have the same catch phrase – best acne treatment product. If you read through the ingredients of the products you will find that nearly all of them have the same ingredients with a few exceptions. Yet one claims to be better than the rest; you should know better since you have probably tried and tested all the preceding products.
Clinique acne solutions make the same sort of claims. It says that if your skin problem does not need a dermatologist then clinique acne solutions is what you need. It is clear from this statement that except for very severe cases of acne, clinique acne solutions can treat the rest. It may be good for an immediate removal of the blemishes, but can it be effective in stopping the acne from recurring? Let us find out.
Clinique Acne Solutions is a product from the well known Clinique brand, more famous for its cosmetic range of products. Skin care products are a new venture for this company and it seems to be piggy backing on its earlier popularity. Acne products have provided a vast field for all the players and nearly all related businesses has a finger in this ‘rich pie.’
The Clinique product is a set of three items – a cleanser, an exfoliator and a lotion. These products cleanse the skin, open the pores, kill the acne forming bacteria, remove the dead skin cells and bring out a flawless complexion. Those are tall claims and add to them another claim; Clinique Acne Solutions controls the oily secretion to prevent further acne breakouts! The question is how can it control a natural phenomenon of the body?
Clinique Acne solutions products are packaged in smart looking bottles – couldn’t have expected anything less from such renowned company. The website has great pictures of the products but there is not much information on them. There are no details of the ingredients and the benefits, as would be expected from a company of this stature. The site has a couple of videos about the ‘how-to’ details, if you are interested to watch.
The WebPages are actually quite confusing – you see a ‘3-step’ something and then suddenly there is information about a soap for dry skin, soap with a soap dish, soap for traveling etc. I mean where is the information about the acne products? Honestly it just does not seem to exist in the company site, so I had to delve into some reviews by users to find further details relevant to the products.
It is evident that the Clinique Acne Solutions has two common ingredients in their products – benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Looks like all the acne products have released they cannot make a mark in this market without these two important agents. Yes it is true that both benzoyl and salicylic perform well in removing dead cells, opening pores, cleansing and generally do a great job in acne treatment. It is also true that these cause dryness, itchiness, sometimes scabs and flakes making matters worse than containing it, and even leave permanent scars. In some cases the acne breakouts have even doubled after using products with these ingredients.
The price range of $60 is expensive for a product one is not sure about. Users have commented that even after three months of usage they were still waiting for results. Some need to continue with the products to keep the acne away despite their skin drying up and losing its soft texture. That is a hard price to pay to get rid of acne – it could bring in premature ageing!
No I would never go for Clinique Acne Solutions even if I had no other option because i) the website lacks complete and due information, ii) the company’s off-handed manner does not exactly attract me, iii) and, I have no intention of drying up my skin just to be in the Clinique bandwagon.
